What are the best first turn builds for Japan? My opinion is two Transports, because Japan needs to get his land forces moving as fast as possible. Other opinions?

i say a transport, a submarine and as many infantry you can buy with remainding cash.
IMO A&AP depends on your navy.

Not so much navy, I'd say; it's important to hold of America as long as you can, but there's simply no way Japan can compete with America in that regard. They need to win the game fast, or else they're sunk (no pun intended wink.gif ).

Note: I play with Sin's revised rules for A&AP, which greatly balances the game. Under the old version, it was nearly impossible for Japan to win, no matter what your R1 builds were tongue.gif.
